Proposal:
My work comprises of hand made paper I recycle waste newspapers to make my own unique paper surface, the idea behind this creation is that I am inspired by the way people in my township area find creative ways to adapt to the environment especially during this difficult times- finding creative ways to make a living. This is often done by sourcing or repurposing materials from the same space. While people are answering a basic need they are also telling their own story.
Biography:
My name is Mpho Hans Mothuntsi I grew up in a small township called Eatonside in sedibeng district municipality. I matriculated at Thandukwazi High School in Sebokeng 2009, and graduated with National Diploma in Fine Art from Vaal University Of Technology in 2015, 2015 I had my first group exhibition at FNB Jo’burg Art Fair in Sandton Johannesburg, from 2016 to 2019 I’ve been participating at Thami mnyele Fine Art Awards competition; in 2016 I was awarded top 15 finalists certificate. from 2017 to 2020 I`ve been participating in small group exhibitions.
