Proposal:
What is your work about? My work portrays rural South African people faced with harsh conditions of life. Nevertheless, conditions of their experience do not take away “UBUNTU” from them. there is a community bonding way of life, a sense of belonging, love, responsibility, respect and peace.
Biography:
Daniel Novela lives and works in Klerksdorp, North West Province. He studied Fine Art at the Vaal University of Technology, Klerksdorp Campus and graduated in the year 2000. His work was exhibited around the Country in group and solo exhibitions:
2005 group exhibition of three SADC Countries at the Southern African Bank in Midrand, SA
2005 represented Southern Africa at the “Under African Skies group exhibition in New York
2006 solo exhibition at Sankaranka Art Gallery in New York.
2016 group exhibition at Serous art gallery, Johannesburg.
2017 Curated Dr Kenneth Kaunda District exhibition as part of a Provincial touring exhibition in the North West Province
2017 Solo exhibition at the National arts festival
