Here are some guidelines:
Load 7-10 images, your CV and a short artist’s statement. Please note: you don’t have to complete your submission catalogue all in one go. You can populate it and edit by returning to it repeatedly, as long as you are logged in – just click “Your submission”link under the “Exhibitors” menu tab. If you are unable to do this on-line please ask a young (or if you are a young person, then a computer-savvy) person to help you. If you are still unable, send us an email at joburgfringe@gmail.com.
If your submission has not been selected by the jury it will not show on the catalogue and will not be saved once the exhibition is finalised.
MEDIA:
For media use, images uploaded should be min. 1200 max 2000 pixels in the largest dimension for possible reproduction in a hard copy newspaper. Large images will be automatically scaled to the right size when you upload. Remember to crop your images to minimise white space around it so the most detail is shown of what really counts.
Videos files for VideoART! are normally quite large and our server has limited space so please upload video material onto a site like Vimeo or Youtube and add a link into your catalogue page alongside title and description of the work.
Your featured image will show in the catalogue, cropped to a square so be sure that the focus of the image is in the centre. Landscape images work best. You are free choose one of your works or something else as a featured image. Remember to add the image to your collection of works if this is part of your submission.
TEXT:
What you submit will go directly into the catalogue so check for typos and keep it short. Have a look at the past catalogues to get an idea. Copying and pasting sometimes brings line breaks with it meaning the text may not flow across the whole space and may look strange on smaller screens. Remove the line breaks if you notice the text does not wrap properly.
EQUIPMENT:
We do not supply projectors, sound systems or special constructions.
