Nonkululeko Chabalala was born on the 17th of November 1990 in Lusaka Zambia. Nonkululeko has completed a multimedia course Umuzi Photo Club and us currently studying law at Wits. After completing her bachelor degree in International Relations, Nonkululeko began pursuing her artistic career, working as a live art model at Artist Proof Studio and the University of Pretoria. Nonkululeko then began to produce artwork, exhibiting her work at U-the space in 2014 and Boundless City in 2015 and Assemblage in 2016. She always had a keen interest in alternate reality as a means to explore her own imagination and the imagination of others. Her art is very experimental, working through trial and error to capture beauty in imperfection. Nonkululeko discovered her passion for visual art while in high school and has been actively pursuing a career as an artist since 2013 by experimenting with various mediums such as photography and collage. Her art is influenced by pop culture, surrealism and politics.
