The birds in this series of works represent spiritual aspects of life such as love, forgiveness, loss and the sublime. There is a reverse metaphor in the drowned birds that alludes to the story of Noah’s ark – where the bird is used as a symbol that evokes hope and new beginnings. The titles are derived from the lyrics of male singer-songwriters that capture the essence of the above.
