Reflexive responses
We are two MTech Fine Art students at the University of Johannesburg who would like to continue what Gordon Froud has started with regards to the curating of a student showcase of work at Jo’burg Fringe. We would like to propose that we curate a space that exhibits the UJ Fine Art student’s work.
We propose the title Reflexive responses for the showcase of student’s work as it encompasses the broad subject matter that students are grappling with. Whether visual responses are self reflexive, socially reflexive or politically reflexive, the works we propose to exhibit all demonstrate a notion of reflecting and responding as an artistic practice to the society we live in.
