My artistic practice is an on going cross-examination of Stereotypical ideology of black womanhood. Through cultural and traditional view points intertwined with Harsh critical western standards gaze. My aim is to show how black female bodies are overly sexualised publicly and made to feel like they have no ownership of their identity. The interest in this is how do they navigate both private and public spaces which relate to the safety of these bodies. My work uses both mythological langue of African stylistic history and Western symbols.
